Press Release

Gaming display specialist AOC announces the brand-new G2 Series gaming monitors. The series consists of four models: 27” (68.6 cm) variants 27G2U and 27G2U5, and the smaller 23.8” (60.4 cm) 24G2U and 24G2U5.

Fans of fast-paced, competitive games should grab the 27G2U or 24G2U with a 144Hz refresh rate, while fans of slower games can opt for the 27G2U5 or 24G2U5 with 75 Hz refresh rate. All models are available with AMD FreeSync and boast a 1 ms MPRT response time to ensure a fluid gaming experience without motion blur. Built around colour-accurate IPS panels, imagery on the G2 Series monitors is incredibly vivid, even seen from wide viewing angles of 178°/178°. All models come in a polished and modern design with striking red accents on the bezel and the back of the monitor, as well as a 130 mm height-adjustable stand for a more ergonomic gaming experience.

Smooth gameplay and vivid visuals

The 27” 27G2U and the 23.8” 24G2U feature IPS panels with 120% and 126% sRGB colour gamut coverage respectively, ensuring natural colour reproduction and eye-popping visuals. Thanks to the very fast refresh rate of 144 Hz and an impressive 1 ms MPRT (moving picture response time), these monitors will ensure smooth gameplay and cater to any gamer’s needs including fans of fast-paced shooters, MOBAs and more…

Fans of slower-paced games like strategy and adventures, who do not need very high refresh rates, may rather wish to choose the 27G2U5 and 24G2U5 with 75 Hz. Both represent a significant improvement over the common 60 Hz monitors and display gameplay more smoothly. These monitors are equipped with IPS panels as well, offering 178°(H)/178°(V) wide viewing angles and rich, vivid colours, as well as 1 ms MPRT response time for high responsiveness and FreeSync support for tear-free and stutter-free gaming. All models have a brightness of 250 cd/m², and can therefore be used in many different lighting environments.

Gamer specific features

Additionally, the G2 Series incorporates a number of other gaming-specific features. The low input lag ensures that users will receive the visual feedback of their actions without any noticable delay. By adjusting AOC Game Color, gamers can increase or decrease the colour saturation to better see their opponents and gain an advantage over them. Using the Dial Point feature, gamers can place a crosshair in the middle of the screen to help them aim precisely and accurately. FlickerFree technology and Low Blue Light mode help to better accommodate longer gaming sessions. Finally, a new, sleek and customised gaming software for adjusting these (and more) settings is also included in the package.

Connectivity

All four models offer two HDMI interfaces, a DisplayPort for connecting a variety of sources and a VGA input for legacy computers. Users can choose to connect their headset to the headphones output or use the integrated 2W speakers. A built-in USB hub gives gamers the option of connecting peripherals such as keyboard and/or mouse which makes for a tidier desk.

The monitors had their European premiere at the worlds’ biggest gaming fair, gamescom in Cologne, Germany between 20-24th August 2019.

The 144Hz models, the 27G2U and 24G2U will debut in the shops in September and the 75Hz 27G2U5 and 24G2U5 in October 2019.

MSRPs of the monitors:
  • 24G2U: € 209.00
  • 24G2U5: € 179.00
  • 27G2U: € 269.00
  • 27G2U5: € 219.00
