SAPPHIRE Technology ha appena annunciato un nuovo modello della serie di schede grafiche di grande successo HD 6800, la HD 6870 1GB Dirt3 Edition, con doppio sistema di ventole di raffreddamento e in bundle con un voucher per il download della versione completa del gioco Dirt3, per poter disporre di una immediata esperienza di gaming completa!

La SAPPHIRE HD 6870 Dirt3 Edition ha la stessa architettura interna del modello standard, con 1120 stream processors e 56 unità texture, ma le velocità di clock sono state aumentate a 920MHz per il core e 1050Mhz (4,2 Gb/sec effettivi) per la memoria GDDR5 da 1 GB. L'esclusivo sistema a doppia ventola assicura raffreddamento ottimale e funzionamento silenzioso anche a pieno carico, per soddisfare anche gli utenti più esigenti. Il nuovo modello dispone di ventole da 90 mm in grado di muovere la stessa quantità di aria, ma con velocità di rotazione inferiori del 10% rispetto alle ventole convenzionali, assicurando un livello di rumorosità molto basso; gli speciali cuscinetti antipolvere contribuiscono inoltre alla maggiore affidabilità della meccanica di raffreddamento.

Eyefinity e accelerazione APP
SAPPHIRE HD 6870 Dirt3 Edition dispone di una versatile configurazione di uscita con due connettori DVI, un connettore HDMI e due connettori mini DisplayPort, e può inoltre supportare un monitor VGA grazie all’adattatore in dotazione. Utilizzando due delle uscite DVI/HDMI nonché le due DisplayPort questa scheda è in grado di supportare fino a quattro monitor in modalità Eyefinity (SLS).

Nella SAPPHIRE HD 6870 l'UVD (Unified Video Decoder) di terza generazione supporta il MVC (Multi-view Video Coding) per una facile decodifica di Blue-Ray in 3D e di altri formati di file con ridotto carico della CPU. Sono anche supportati gli standard Dolby TrueHD e DTS-HD Master Audio e HDMI 1.4°, che garantiscono colori intensi, alta risoluzione per le applicazioni Digital Theatre, supporto 3D stereoscopico e audio 7.1 high bit-rate.

Gli stream processors della serie HD 6800 possono essere utilizzati per accelerare da GPU altre applicazioni come il video transcoding, l’ultima generazione di web browser e assicurare inoltre una maggior produttività in Microsoft Office 2010.

Supporto DX11 di seconda generazione
La serie SAPPHIRE HD 6800 è dotata della seconda generazione di GPU AMD progettata per supportare tutte le caratteristiche di Microsoft DirectX 11 e DirectCompute 11.

Fra le caratteristiche hardware avanzate rientrano la Tessellation Unit avanzata, compressione HDR texture dedicata, comunicazione multi-threaded con la CPU di sistema, supporto integrato per molte istruzioni di DirectCompute 11, supporto per 3D stereoscopico, HDMI 1.4a e DisplayPort 1.2.

The SAPPHIRE HD 6870 Dirt3 Edition has the same internal architecture as the standard model, with 1120 stream processors and 56 texture processing units, but clock speeds are increased to 920MHz for the core and 1050Mhz (4.2Gb/sec effective) for the 1GB of GDDR5 memory giving users a boost in performance. The new SAPPHIRE exclusive cooler design has Dual fans to keep this model cool and quiet even when under load conditions, keeping even extreme gamers happy! Eyefinity and APP acceleration
The SAPPHIRE HD 6870 Dirt3 Edition has the versatile output configuration of two DVI, one HDMI and two mini DisplayPort connectors, and can support a VGA monitor with the dongle supplied. Using two of the DVI/HDMI outputs together with the two DisplayPorts enables this card to support up to four monitors in Eyefinity (SLS) mode.

The third generation UVD (Unified Video Decoder) in the SAPPHIRE HD 6870 supports MVC (Multi-view Video Coding) for the smooth decoding of Blu-Ray 3D with reduced CPU load as well as other file formats. Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio are supported, and HDMI capability has also been upgraded to HDMI 1.4a. This provides deep colour, enhanced high resolution output for Digital Theatre applications and 3D stereoscopic support as well as 7.1 high bit-rate audio.

The multiple stream processors of the HD 6800 series can be used to accelerate other applications such as video transcoding. The latest generation of web browsers can be GPU accelerated, and this is also supported for enhanced productivity in Microsoft Office 2010.

Second Generation DX11 support
The SAPPHIRE HD 6800 series features the second generation of graphics technology from AMD designed to support all the features of Microsoft DirectX 11 and DirectCompute 11. These GPUs are built in AMD’s 40nm process to deliver high performance with low power consumption.
